Janet Perkin

Janet was born in Sheffield, England. She studied Chemistry and received an Honors degree from Manchester University and then a teaching credential from Cambridge University. She started her career as a research chemist and teacher. During her teaching career, she taught at Amanzimtoti Zulu Training School in South Africa.

After raising 3 children, and building an insurance brokerage business with her husband Bob, she was able to pursue her love of art.

Janet studied at workshops in Italy, San Miguel de Allende and the USA. During this time, she found her main interest was mixed media and collage.

My work embraces vibrant color and expressionism. I am an award-winning artist exhibiting in many gallery and museum shows. The National Collage Society selected my work to be represented on their annual calendar for 5 years (2019, 2020, 2021, 2023 and 2024). Color, collage, stamping and painting all play a part in my creative process. 

My work has always been about bringing different cultures together and about our connection with the earth and all living things. Ideas that have only increased in relevance today.
