Agamograph: Portrait of Bonnie Cady and Collage by Bonnie Cady
My name is Robin Barrett and I am a Professional Photographer and Art Instructor. I lead a weekly art workshop at the Front Porch Gallery in Carlsbad, California. Bonnie Cady attends the weekly workshop and I asked Bonnie if we would like to collaborate with me for this intergenerational co-mentorship project inspired by our mutual love of photography. Bonnie has a zest for creating collages as well as a flair for fashion with her colorful and whimsical outfits and lavender hair. I wanted to capture a portrait of Bonnie and pair it with one of her collages into a 3D piece of art called an Agamograph. An Agamograph is also known as a Lenticular, and is an art form that uses an optical illusion to create change when you look at it from different angles. This style of art was named after an Israeli artist named Yaacov Agam who made kinetic art, or art that moves by itself or requires the viewer to move for it to have the desired effect.
