StatementExploring the natural world feeds my artistic vision. Even though my actual vision is limited, I see in my mind’s eye and connect to my hand’s movement to express that vision with bold colors, texture and expressive strokes. As the light fades from my eyes, let art by my reflection.
The paintings for the The Journey of Life Exhibition revolve around family. The Wonders of the Desert painting was inspired by my mom, who loved Saguaro cacti, and my granddaughter, who had 3 tortoises. I composed this painting with the elements of my love for them. Dancing by the Light of the Moon was inspired by my daughter's and granddaughters love of dance. First Love expresses the essence of the bond between a grandchild and a pet. These paintings reflect my journey through life with family.
